With a great view of Cooley Lake, this is a fun place to eat on a sunny evening. Both hubby and I started our meals with seafood bisque, which is worth a trip by itself. Hubby ordered the prime rib and I got the steak and shrimp stir fry. Both entrees were tasty. I ordered sweet potato fries on the side, which were nicely done and served with (yum!) honey mustard dipping sauce. So why only three stars? Hubby's salad was too limp to eat - that's a no-no that the waitress should have caught.

Worst bar configuration on the planet. Had to spend a ton on this custom built monstrosity. Obtrusive.

It's a great bar and grill with a up north feel. The ribs are a must and they do a $1.50 beer of the month that's available 7 days a week not just happy hour. They have live entertainment most days and when there is no band playing the bartenders will keep you company. Video games, pool tables and it's right on the waterfront.

This place is near my parents house, so we swing by here sometimes when I'm in town to grab drinks after dinner on the way home. We ate here once or twice and it was just pretty mediocre bar food, hence why we come here after eating. We usually just have beer at the bar & the bartenders have been nice enough, some are more attentive than others. They have open mic jazz night on Sundays that isn't too bad if you just want to here some people jam. So, food is meh 2, bar is alright 2.5.

I ordered take out and it was pretty disgusting. The seafood bisque looked and tasted like chum jello, and the Mac & Cheese was greasy and tasted worse than the instant boxed stuff.

I'd totally avoid this place if I anybody asked me to come here again! It was absolutely disgusting. I thought the food was mediocre, but like others have said, the waitress told us that they had gross water, so our party decided to get pop, but that wasn't any better. The change from Kodiak Creek to this new restaurant was definitely a bad idea. The service wasn't good, and our waitress took a very long time to come back and check on us or even ask if we needed anything at all. I'm never coming back here.

To pricey for the quality. Staff was totally overwhelmed for a busy Friday. It's to bad, they could have made a better first impression. Perhaps I'll give them another shot in the summer and see if they've figured out how to run a restaurant. At least I'll get to enjoy the outdoor seating then. Oh yeah, the beer selection was terrible, not a single Michigan brew on the list.

Beautiful view of the water, HORRIBLE service, decent food. Took 1.5 hours to get our food and after we were done eating they brought our appetizer. We didn't even get one of our meals and had to leave because it took to long. Not recommended.

We stopped here last Sunday after buying 10 lbs of chicken at the meat market up the street (but that's for another review). We've driven past this place a half dozen times or so and always thought it would be a fun place to stop since you have an unobstructed view of Cooley Lake. So with me in a suit and my wife in her Sunday best we headed inside. I'm torn about whether I would take kids here. It does have windows and a decent dining area, but there are alcohol advertisements haning all over. I guess if you were going for the "up north" feel then it would be alright for the family, or at least durring the day. I have the feeling that at night, though, this place would be too bar-esque to bring your kids. I was pleased to see they had a couple different IPAs on tap and tried one of each. Not much to report here as beer should be served correctly and it was. No points awarded or taken away. My wife had a cherry coke which she reported was terrible. I don't know why she drank it if it wasn't right, but then again women don't make sense. The food was great. We had deep fried dill pickle chips for an appetizer. Im being honest when I say these are the best I've had anywhere. They put the Hooters ones to shame (and I LOVE the ones from Hooters). The order appeared pretty small, but it was just the right amount. Some places (like Hooters) give you so many you get a stomach ache from eating them before your food arrives. I had a pizza and Wife had some sort of chicken wrap. Both of those were good too. Then there are the specials. Whoo-boy! On Sunday if you buy a Bloody-Mary you get the breakfast buffet for free ($5 value). $5 burger and fry specials durring the week, they have one day (Monday???) when they have $0.25 wings, and many other great specials. Bottom line, if you are in The Lakes area and want good cheap food with a pleasant view check out this place. Also, opposite of some reviewers we had a very attentive waitress.

Should have read the reviews before I bought my groupon. The service was aweful. The food was okay but even with the groupon too expensive for bar food. Don't GO !!!

Well the old Kodiak Creek Inn is gone and replaced with this one. I could be mistaken but I think the same "I'll be right back I think I'm missing some gossip at the bar" waitstaff returned, which is why I stopped going to the Kodiak. The difference with this place is, the food is standard and overpriced! Fish & Chips for $12.00 is too high for regular fish and chips that were so-so at that and an $8.00 Cheeseburger that wasn't cooked to order, asked for medium well and came out still pink! We were warned about the water being "bad well water" so we stuck with the pop, that came out tasting like pop made with "bad well water", put on a filter!! I waited 7 minutes for a waitperson to look my way to ask for a coke refill. Oh yea she was at the bar gossiping with the bartender! This is no way to start a restaurant. Like always, I'll try back to see if things get straightened out...I hope so because it's a nicely renovated place with a lot of "lakes area" history going back lots of years.

We were seated outside on a sunny day. The view and company were the only things going for it. The place was not that busy. Our bunch ordered, salads, fish and chips, and chicken fingers. Took an HOUR, and forgot our fries. We told them, "Never mind", but they brought them anyway after late entree delivery. Complained to Manager, and she took the fries off. When we left, almost all waitstaff was out back chatting? Or getting high? Snort. Yeah Management!!!

My wife an I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. We knew it under the previous name and ownership, and it was a 3-4 star place. Since then it has quickly gone down hill, both in atmosphere, food quality and the staff. This last visit (we wanted to give them one last try) was defiantly a perfect representation of why we will never go back. Aside from the staff who seems more interested in gossiping then you, the food was horrible. We ordered steaks, while mine was decent, my wife's steak tasted re-heated, borderline rancid (different cut than mine). We immediately sent it back, and while the waitress did take it back it was not without some 'discussion'. The steak in return was not only worse, but had a funny smell. Needless to say it not only ruined my wife's appetite it ruined mine as well. Clearly not liking our food, we quickly just asked for the check and left. No 'I'm sorry you didn't care for your food', or 'was there anything else you would like instead?' Just here's your check, you want a to go bag? Um, no. This restaurant better change some things if they want our business back.
